Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how PhotoTranslate (phototranslate.ai) collects, uses, stores, and protects information when you use our AI image translation service. PhotoTranslate is built for translating images such as manga panels, menus, product photos, screenshots, and documents while preserving the original layout.

Information we collect

We may collect the following information:

• Account and contact details: Name, email address, login provider, support messages, and newsletter preferences.
• Image translation files: Images you upload, translated outputs, extracted text regions, source and target languages, and processing metadata needed to generate the translated image.
• Usage and device data: Pages viewed, feature usage, browser type, device information, IP address, approximate location, errors, and performance data.
• Billing data: Plan, credits, invoices, payment status, and Stripe customer identifiers. We do not store full card numbers.

How we use information

We use information to:

• Provide image translation, OCR, layout preservation, downloads, and saved files.
• Manage accounts, sessions, monthly credits, purchases, subscriptions, and refunds.
• Respond to support requests sent through the contact form or support@phototranslate.ai.
• Detect abuse, secure the service, troubleshoot failed uploads, and improve translation quality and reliability.
• Send product updates or newsletter messages when you have opted in.

Upload retention

Uploaded images and generated translations are stored only as long as needed to deliver the translation, support customer service, and audit usage. We are finalising a documented retention window and will publish it here before launch. Account records, billing records, support messages, and audit logs may be kept for as long as needed to operate PhotoTranslate, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and prevent abuse.

Service providers

We may share information with trusted providers that help us operate PhotoTranslate, including hosting and storage, AI/OCR/translation processing, email delivery, analytics, authentication, payments, and customer support. These providers may process information only as needed to deliver their services to us. We do not sell your personal information.

Your choices

You can update account details, unsubscribe from marketing emails, manage cookies in your browser, or request help with privacy questions by contacting support@phototranslate.ai. If account deletion is enabled in your settings, you can request deletion from the security page.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect personal information and uploaded files. No online service can guarantee absolute security, so keep your account credentials private and contact us if you believe your account has been compromised.
