Why we built PhotoTranslate

Most translators handle text. Almost none handle the image the text lives in. That gap is what PhotoTranslate exists to close.

If you sell on Amazon and need to localize product photos into six languages, or you read manga that hasn't shipped a translation yet, or you snap a menu in a country whose script you don't know — you've probably tried to feed the image to a generic translation tool and gotten back a blurry overlay or an error.

PhotoTranslate is a layout-aware pipeline: detect every text region in the image, translate it, then rebuild the image with the original fonts, colors, and surrounding artwork in place.

What's in the first release

• Image translator on the homepage. Drop a PNG, JPG, JPEG, or WEBP up to 20 MB.
• 20+ Latin-script target languages. Source language is auto-detected for many scripts (including CJK), but target rendering is Latin-only in v1 — CJK and right-to-left targets will follow once we bundle fonts.
• Layout preservation: original fonts, colors, alignment, and surrounding artwork stay intact.
• Free tier with 50 image translations per month.
